Coburg University of applied sciences
"The Coburg University of Applied Sciences should be a place of creativity, inspiration and humanity." The new website was also to illustrate this guiding principle visually and graphically. Visitors will notice the individual design at first glance and thus get an impression of the familiar and communal atmosphere at the university.
Person search from Univis data
An automatic import of personal data from the central Univis enables the context-dependent presentation of employees on different sites of the university. A central search enables visitors to search directly in the personal database by name or function. The data from Univis can be enriched by editors with additional information and images.
The challenge
The main target groups are prospective students, the scientific community and the general public. With the relaunch, the structure of the website was also streamlined so that visitors can quickly find the information they are looking for. Freely definable "quicklinks" also help visitors to find their way around quickly. There is a separate intranet for students and staff.
The implementation
Modern programming techniques such as Grunt, NodeJS and HTML5 were used for the technical implementation of the new website. With the "mobile first" strategy, the new website can be used optimally on different end devices (smartphone, tablet, PC). For a quick search of contact persons, a person extension was developed, which is based on the address database "univis" of the Coburg University of applied sciences. Videos can be integrated directly and Coburg's university television is conveniently networked.
